Enzo Fernandez’s father, Raul Fernandez, recently spoke about his son’s difficult first year at Chelsea.

Following a big money move from Benfica last January, Enzo Fernandez didn’t have the best of starts at Stamford Bridge.

Raul Fernandez has admitted his son was frustrated at first, and revealed how he uplifted him with some advice.

He told Esto en Liniea: “Enzo is a bit frustrated because he was always a winner and going through these moments is not easy. I tell him to stay calm, don’t read social media, keep training and things will get better.

“One more year and he’s going to be fine, they’re going to be better. So well, keep fighting because he never hung up on his titles.

“I tell him never to lose his humility, always working double shift, training at the club, when he goes home he trains with a private coach, taking care of his food, sleeping the hours he has to sleep.”

Enzo Fernandez has improved under Mauricio Pochettino, and his form of late has been impressive, as he continues to improve alongside Moises Caicedo in the Chelsea midfield.
