Marc Cucurella has been given a surprise national team call-up, as he makes a return to Spain.

The Chelsea left-back has been called up by the Spanish national team to replace Jose Gayà.

Cucurella played for 90 minutes and scored a goal in the FA Cup match against Leicester City, which Chelsea won 4-2.

This will be the first Spain call-up for Marc Cucurella in nearly three years.

Cucurella received the call to confirm that he is joining the national team for the two upcoming friendlies against Colombia and Brazil.

This is Cucurella’s first call-up since August 2021.

The 25-year-old has made one career appearance so far for Spain, and the Spaniard will be hoping to impress and boost his chances of earning a place in the squad for the Euros this summer.
