Chelsea right-back, Malo Gusto has admitted he’s hopeful of getting another call-up to the French national team.
The 20-year-old was first called-up to Didier Deschamps’ side last October, but didn’t make it to the team the following month. He’s however been in serious form since last year, and is a contender for a spot this time.
The right-back told Le Parisien: “I will certainly look at the list, but it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I wasn’t called up. If I’m called up, it will mean that I’m working well. If I’m not called up, it’s because I still have to work.
“It was a source of pride for me to wear this shirt, especially during the big match against the Netherlands (2-1,13 October).
“It was a good debut, although there were things I should have done better. In certain choices I was perhaps a little too hasty, due to the emotion of the first match for the national team.
“These are details that I will have to improve in the next few times.”
Given his current form, Malo Gusto will definitely be making the France national team rather sooner than later.
