Performance instructor, Ed Hodge has slammed Chelsea’s fitness trainers for the way they are handling the club’s players in the gym.

Hodge believes the training staff at Chelsea still have a thing or two to learn, if they want to prevent the incessant injuries at the club.

Taking to his social media, Hodge, who shared a screenshot of a gym session at Stamford Bridge, wrote: “Really concerned to see @chelseafc have an inexperienced reformer teacher on site teaching pro players.

“1. You DONT wear sneakers! Never!!

“2. Coxis (tailbone) should be planted in this manoeuvre and not lifted.

“3. Arms should be rested by your side… (And more wrong with this picture).

“If you are taught Reformer Pilates incorrectly you are going to have injuries. I have said time and time again that you should only use highly qualified professionals. This is very worrying to see.”

Hodge has a close friendship with Chelsea defender, Trevoh Chalobah, having worked as his personal trainer for a while.

The injuries at Chelsea have indeed been a cause for concern this season.
