Darren Bent has claimed that Cole Palmer has had a much better season than his Chelsea teammates, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.
Palmer moved to Stamford Bridge last summer for a reported fee of £40m.
The 21-year-old has made immense contributions to the Blues since the transfer, scoring vital goals, and setting up others in the team when he can’t.
In contrast, Caicedo and Enzo have not had as much impact as Palmer, despite costing Chelsea way more money to sign.
The pair have improved over the course of the season, and have definitely produced some outstanding displays, but Palmer has just been at a higher level of consistency.
Bent was discussing Palmer and his midfield teammates at Chelsea recently, and went on to tell talkSPORT: “See that’s a bargain, that. He has been better than them (Caicedo and Fernandez).
“Cole Palmer, probably out them three, he can go ‘Do you know what? I’ve done everything I can’.”
Palmer has been named as one of the players that will be taking part in England’s upcoming matches with Brazil and Belgium next week, thanks to his great form, and we can only hope he does well in both games to seal his place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the 2024 European Championship.
