Glenn Hoddle believes that Victor Osimhen will do well in the Premier League if he decides to move to an English club in the future.
Osimhen has seen his reputation as a striker grow in recent seasons, thanks to his great finishing ability.
The 25-year-old helped Napoli secure the Serie A title last season, after providing them with an impressive 26 goals. This season, the return hasn’t been as good, but that could be down to him being injured for a few weeks, and then joining his country to the AFCON back in January.
Nonetheless, the Nigerian has scored 13 times in 24 matches this season, and the interest from top European clubs has continued to grow.
Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are among the clubs seeking to get Osimhen’s signature this summer, and Hoddle has given his backing to the forward to do well in England if he opts to play in the Premier League.
He told TNT Sports: “He’s a Premier League player looking at him, the style of him as well. But he’s got his hunger back. That’s the main thing. I think now he’s back to his best.
“He’s got the hunger, the movement, he wants to score goals. That’s the big difference, the mindset.”
Whatever club Osimhen decides to join this summer, we’re certain they’ll be getting a great player as a result of the performances he has given in the past.
Osimhen has a £113m release clause, which will be difficult for Chelsea to pay given the club’s FFP standing.
