Girona boss, Michel has reportedly turned down the opportunity to manage Chelsea.
Spanish outlet, AS, recently claimed that the Blues top chiefs travelled to Spain to have a meeting with Michel over potentially taking over from Mauricio Pochettino.
Whether the report is true or not remains to be ascertained, but it appears the trip hasn’t paid off, as Michel has opted to remain with his current employers, and doesn’t fancy a move to Chelsea.
Girona is part of the City Football Group, and knowing the amount of money at their disposal, it is not out of place to think that the decision might have been influenced by them.
Michel has done well with Girona this season, as they’re currently second on the La Liga table, behind Real Madrid, and ahead of third-placed FC Barcelona.
