Chelsea goalkeeper, Djordje Petrovic has now admitted that he’s been surprised by the impact his teammate, Cole Palmer has made since joining the club.
Like Petrovic, Cole Palmer was a summer signing for the Blues, joining from Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City for a fee around £40m.
The 21-year-old has been a huge revelation since making that transfer, and has received plaudits from many of his teammates and pundits for his impressive work on the pitch.
After 32 matches for the Blues across all competitions, Palmer has scored 12 times, and picked up another 10 assists for himself.
It is no wonder Petrovic has now showered praise on the attacking midfielder, who he has described as having ‘quality’.
The Serbian goalkeeper told Sky Sports when asked which player at Chelsea is underrated: “Before he signed for Chelsea, Cole [Palmer]. To be honest I didn’t expect from him how many goals and assists. Now he’s showed the quality.”
Palmer provided the magnificent cross that helped Chelsea salvage a point in the 2-2 draw against Brentford last weekend, and his teammates and fans will be looking to him for more match-winning performances as the Blues try to finish the season strongly with just 12 games to go.
