Chelsea will be among the clubs who will try and steal Aaron Ramsdale from Arsenal this summer, according to journalist, Dean Jones.

Aaron Ramsdale has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates stadium after losing the starting position to summer signing, David Raya.

The 25-year-old has so far remained professional about his situation, but Jones thinks it’s only a matter of time before he exits Arsenal, and tips Chelsea to make a move for his signature.

The journalist told Give Me Sport: “I think basic logic tells you that Ramsdale cannot continue to just sit on the bench watching Arsenal week in week out. He’s basically got a season ticket at the moment. That’s not really where he needs to be at this moment in his career.

“He’s been very professional this season and credit to him for remaining so patient when others would not have. He will definitely have offers to leave. I think we will see rumours around that build in May and as we head into the Euros.

“I know Newcastle and Chelsea both have a level of interest. I’d be very surprised if Ramsdale did not end up leaving Arsenal in the summer.”

We would be lying to ourselves if we didn’t admit that Chelsea could use a top-class goalkeeper right now— and that person could be Ramsdale.

Djordje Petrovic has done an excellent job since stepping in for Robert Sanchez last December, but the Serb has looked unassured sometimes.

Getting someone with as much Premier League experience as Ramsdale in between the sticks will go a long way in helping solve the defensive problems the Blues have faced since last season.

However, if Chelsea do sign Ramsdale, Kepa Arrizabalaga will have to be sold along with Robert Sanchez, while Petrovic provides competition.
