The 24-year-old is drawing attention from a host of Premier League clubs with his goalscoring form for the German club.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal have all been credited with an interest in the striker, but he insists he’s focused on finishing the season with Leipzig for now.

He told Sport: “Everyone talks about the clubs that want me. But I don’t focus on that. I feel good here since day one and I have a contract here. I don’t have to worry about where I’ll be in a year or two.

“In five years something might be different. I want to be one of the best strikers in the world. But I’m doing so well here, I don’t know why I should think about other clubs.”

Openda also said: “I’ve felt at home here since day one. […] Since day one I have had a good feeling and have been playing football the way I want to play football. I enjoy that.”

Lois Openda joined Leipzig from RC Lens last summer, and the striker has already scored 21 goals in 32 games for them across all competitions.
