Ben Chilwell has suffered yet another injury— his second for the season, and now faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The Chelsea vice-captain reportedly picked up a knee injury, which pretty much rules him out of the upcoming Premier League clash with Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge.
The news comes just weeks after the left-back returned from a four-month absence as a result of a hamstring injury.
Chilwell is expected to meet with a specialist soon, before the full scope of his condition is known.
“We need to wait until he sees a specialist,” Pochettino said of Chilwell, while speaking at a press conference on Thursday.
“I hope it is not a big issue. At this moment, after eight, nine months at the club, I prefer to be cautious and wait.”
The last time Ben Chilwell picked up a knee injury was back in 2021, and he was out for six months.
