Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he is still in the dark regarding the size of Chelsea’s transfer budget for the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Blues are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer after failing to sign any player during the winter window.

Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Athletic Bilbao’s Inaki Williams, and RB Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko are among the names strongly being linked with the Blues for the summer, but when Pochettino was asked to shed light on what the size of the club’s budget would be like, the Argentine claimed he has no idea for now.

“I don’t know. I need also to be informed. Today, we did not talk about that,” the Chelsea boss told a press conference.

“We will talk and I will be informed, for sure. I don’t know. Maybe tomorrow we will have better information and I can explain next time my opinion.”

The question came after Chelsea announced the club had taken in a £90.1m loss in the 2022-23 financial year.

The development could spell trouble for the Blues, who may now have to sell some of their first-teamers to make any new signings, even though the insist they haven’t fallen into trouble with Financial Fair Play just yet.
