Mikel Obi sends final warning to Pochettino

Former Chelsea midfielder John Mikel Obi has warned Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino to start winning games and trophies for the club.

Mikel believes winning the Carabao Cup would have helped buy Pochettino some time, but admits that the pressure is now on the Argentine to deliver the goods.

Mikel in an interview with London Evening Standard, said that Pochettino would have lost his job if it were the era of Roman Abramovich.

“Some of the criticism has been over the top, but we went through the same thing playing for Chelsea when we were not winning, getting criticised and watching managers losing their jobs,” Mikel said.

“This is Chelsea. You have to win. You have to win games and trophies. Yes, we’ve given them time, but they have had time to start gelling, coming together, and playing much better.

“I defend the players and coach. They have to be given time, but how much time? This is Chelsea FC.

“If this was the [Roman] Abramovich era, he would have lost his job, but I hope the new owners give Poch time. Let’s see where we finish at the end of the season.

“The final would have given him breathing space but now we need a run of winning games to see where we end up finishing. Then it will be up to the owners to make a decision.”

Let him go and bring back Thomas or Mourinho our team will start performing well better. He is lucky Roman is out of Chelsea this time as we are talking he is suppose watch the games through……. We can not have a coach who is not winning even simple games like Brentford and the academy team of Liverpool which played a final game with our senior team Chelsea. Am here to say let him go even tomorrow
