Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has spoken about Chelsea target Victor Osimhen, hinting the club may have no option than to sell the striker when Chelsea come this summer.

Chelsea are believed to be favourites to sign Osimhen this summer, with his release clause believed to stand around £110m.

“Some players stay for many years, others are wanted by PSG, Arsenal, Man City, Chelsea,” said De Laurentiis, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“It’s difficult to keep players when they are wanted by rich clubs.

“I can confirm there’s a release clause, very high one.”

Meanwhile, former Chelsea midfielder, John Mikel Obi, has said he’s trying to ensure Osimhen chooses Chelsea over other clubs interested in him.

“I’m still Osimhen’s agent, trying to get him to Chelsea! I’ve got 20 per cent of that deal, so I hope it works out!” Mikel Obi said of Osimhen at the Web Summit Qatar on Thursday.

When asked if Osimhen joining Chelsea is a ‘genuine possibility’, Mikel replied: “I think there is genuine interest between both. I think he loves the club, he wants to come to the club.

“Obviously, he wants to follow my footsteps as a Nigerian player who has played for Chelsea – Victor Moses, Celestine Babayaro, not a lot of us.

“London as well, fantastic city, instead of going to Liverpool or places like that you want to live in London.

“But he also has a lot of interest. Paris Saint-Germain, Man United.

“I’m still pushing, sending him messages, trying to make sure he doesn’t expect too much, narrow your mind on one club – the Blues.”
