Mauricio Pochettino warns Chelsea star to stop being selfish and play for the team

Mauricio Pochettino has urged Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk to understand that football is a ‘collective sport’ after he scored in the first half against Leeds.

Chelsea beat Leeds United 3-2 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night with goals from Nicolas Jackson, Mudryk and Conor Gallagher.

“Mudryk has amazing talent,” Pochettino said. “But he needs to understand that football is a collective sport.

“You put your talent in the service of the team. For that, you need time. [But] it’s not only Mudryk.

“There are a few other players, because they are so young. They [sometimes] forget they need to recover their position, press and work hard. Of course, it is important he scored to build his confidence.”
