Ian Wright says he wishes Arsenal had beaten Chelsea to the signing of this player

Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has admitted he’s a fan of Chelsea attackig midfielder Cole Palmer.

Cole Palmer joined Chelsea in a £40m deal from Manchester City last summer.

Since he made the move, the 21-year-old has made an impact for his new club, scoring goals and grabbing assists in both the Premier League and other competitions.

Despite the troubles that Mauricio Pochettino’s side have had this term, Palmer has come up with 12 goals and nine assists across all competitions, and Wright has now revealed he wishes his former club signed the England international instead.

“I wish we did,” he said on podcast Wrighty’s House on signing Palmer.

“I don’t want to say who I’d have had him in for, but I’d have loved to have had Cole Palmer.

“I heard someone saying something that he’s like [Riyad] Mahrez, but he’s not that player; he has so much more.”

Palmer recently made his senior England debut thanks to his great form at Chelsea, and many expect him to take part in the Three Lions’ squad for the European Championship later this year.
