Malo Gusto believes that Chelsea are better-prepared to face Liverpool now, after losing to them five matches ago.
Jurgen Klopp’s side inflicted a 4-1 defeat on Chelsea in the Premier League more than two weeks ago, to pile on the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino and his boys.
However, since that week, Chelsea have gone unbeaten in three matches, including wins against Crystal Palace and Aston Villa, and a draw with Manchester City at the Etihad stadium.
The Blues and Liverpool will play against each other again on Sunday, but this time, in the Carabao Cup final, and for Gusto, the timing is perfect, because Chelsea now know how to handle the nine-time EFL winners.
Asked whether he sees Liverpool as a bigger challenge than they were last month, Malo Gusto said: “I think so, yes. Now we know how they play, move and use their players. It was good to play against them five games ago and we are ready.
“After that game, we stuck together on the training ground or in defensive or offensive actions [on the pitch]. I think it is just about mentality. That’s what we have had in the last three games, and I think that’s why we played better, and we have to keep it.”
