We’ve shown big balls – Liverpool coach says ahead of Carabao Cup final

Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders addressed the media ahead of the Carabao Cup final showdown with Chelsea.

Lijnders has said Liverpool have shown ‘big balls’ to put faith in some of their academy stars this season.

A number of Liverpool academy graduates have impressed in the first team this season, and Lijnders is proud of their progress.

“The dream was to prove to the world it is possible, even at this level in the Premier League,” he said.

“Not just bring in young players but players who win and can win you trophies because that is what Liverpool is about. I am really proud.

“We really created a one-club mentality and culture. From a young age we play in a certain way, if we have to buy a right full-back, we show big balls to go for the academy player.”

It’s all talks at this stage; there’s a feeling however, Chelsea will dislodge Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.
