Chelsea defender Thiago Silva was forced off just after the hour-mark in Chelsea’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.
Silva hasn’t featured for Chelsea since the Palace game, and it was Levi Colwill who came on as the Brazilian’s replacement at Selhurst Park.
The veteran defender is unavailable due to a groin injury and remains a doubt for Sunday’s final at Wembley.
Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Thiago Silva is close to a return, but refused to ascertain his availability for Sunday’s final showdown at Wembley.
Asked for an update on Silva’s fitness on Friday, Pochettino said: “He has a chance. Tomorrow, we will see.”
Pressed on any further injury news, the Argentine replied: “I think we need to assess to see whether they can be involved on Sunday.
“I will communicate tomorrow if we recovered players from training.”
Pochettino may yet again trust Levi Colwill and Axel Disasi to partner up in central defence, after their showing against Manchester City last weekend.
