Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry has revealed he’s eager for Victor Osimhen to move to England, and show what he can do in the Premier League.
Osimhen is one of the most sought-after footballers in Europe, after an impressive outing with Napoli last season.
The Nigerian almost single-handedly helped Napoli to their first Scudetto in decades, scoring 26 goals in 32 league games in the process.
Osimhen has already scored seven times in 13 Serie A matches this season, and was on target, as Napoli earned a 1-1 draw with Barcelona during their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Tuesday.
Chelsea and Arsenal are in search of a proven finisher, and were both linked with a move for the 25-year-old last month.
The Blues may however struggle to afford Osimhen’s £111m release clause with Napoli, as a result of Financial Fair Play rules, despite reports claiming the West Londoners are favourites for his signature— which puts the Gunners in a position of strength.
Arsenal great, Henry recently spoke about his former club’s need for a new striker, and told CBS: “I think that’s something Mikel Arteta is going to look upon at the end of the season and see who he can bring into his team.”
Micah Richards, who was also on punditry duty suggested Victor Osimhen to Henry, to which the Frenchman replied: “Sorry? You need to call Mikel for that.”
Henry also added: “He showed last year what he could do.
“He won African player of the year along the way. I would like to see him now, what can you do in the Premier League?”
