Former Brighton and Sunderland boss, Gus Poyet has said he believes Mykhailo Mudryk has what it takes to become a successful player for Chelsea.
Mykhailo Mudryk has not had it all good since he made an £89m transfer to Stamford Bridge in January 2023, having struggled to nail a regular place in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
The Ukrainian has actually played a good number of matches this season, and currently has three goals to his name, but most of it have come from the bench.
Pochettino recently urged the 23-year-old to work on himself if he wants to play more for Chelsea, but former Premier League star, Poyet appears to think that what the winger actually needs is good coaching, because he’s convinced he carries raw potential in him.
The ex-Chelsea midfielder told talkSPORT: “The speed. I think he needs something to click. You need to know the person as well. There are some players who understand straight away, but some you need to repeat it or show them. You’ve got 26 different people learning in different ways.
“I don’t know him, but he has got incredible potential. It would be such a shame if it doesn’t work out at Chelsea.”
