Ben Foster makes interesting prediction for Carabao Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool

Former Premier League goalkeeper, Ben Foster has made a rather unexpected prediction for this weekend’s Carabao Cup final between Chelsea and Liverpool.

The Blues and the Reds have become familiar foes in domestic competitions in recent seasons, having met twice in both the FA Cup and the Carabao Cup in the last two campaigns.

The last time the two cubs met in the Carabao Cup, Liverpool beat Chelsea in a penalty shootout to lift the trophy, as they chased the quadruple, and Foster has now predicted a repeat of that result for Sunday’s final at Wembley.

When predicting the League Cup final result, Foster said on his YouTube channel: “I’m going to throw a cheeky little 2-2 draw, penalties, Liverpool win. [Caoimhin] Kelleher the hero.”

Liverpool have already asserted their dominance over Chelsea this season, with a 4-1 win against the Blues when they met at Anfield weeks ago, but we doubt they’ll find it as easy this time, because Mauricio Pochettino’s men have improved a lot since that defeat.

The Reds will also be without a few key players on Sunday, which firmly puts Chelsea in control of the tie.
