William Gallas has told Pochettino what he must do if Chelsea are to win their first piece of silverware for the season this weekend, as the Blues play Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final.

The Blues will take on Liverpool in the final of the Carabao Cup at the Wembley stadium on Sunday, February 25.

Both Chelsea and Liverpool are dealing with some injuries ahead of the game, with the Blues currently without nine of their first-team players, and the Reds, 10.

Chelsea go into the fixture off the back of a 1-1 Premier League draw with Manchester City at the Etihad stadium, and Gallas believes that all they need to do now is go to Wembley, and give the game all they’ve got.

“I think that Poch’s preparation for the Carabao Cup on Sunday will be very simple, especially after the performance against Manchester City,” Gallas told Gambling Zone.

“The players will be analysing that game at the beginning of the week and they will be looking to keep that same standard when they play Liverpool in the final.

“OK, a final is completely different to a game in the Premier League. It is a one-off occasion with a unique atmosphere.

“They will be playing against the team that are currently on the top of the Premier League, but they have their own challenges too. Liverpool have quite a few players that are injured, but they still have Salah available and probably Darwin Nunez.

“They’ve lost Jota. They’ve lost Alexander-Arnold, but they still have quality.

“It doesn’t matter how you play in a final, you just have to win it. Finals are all about getting results. It’s simple. It’s not about playing good football and making people happy, it’s about winning.

“You go to Wembley, and you go to win. You need to have a good spirit and you need to be prepared to fight for ninety minutes. Don’t be scared on the ball. Give everything. It’s simple.”

Chelsea may have been beaten by Liverpool recently, but the Pochettino and his men have the momentum heading into this Carabao Cup final.
