Brighton’s head of recruitment, Sam Jewell is set to become a part of the Chelsea system, according to a statement from the Seagulls.
Jewell is expected to resume his new role in November— a role that will see him work across Chelsea’s owners’ global club network.
The statement from Brighton said: “Sam Jewell has accepted a new position at Chelsea FC. Sam has now commenced a period of gardening leave. We thank him for his long service to our club.”
Meanwhile, The Athletic’s David Ornstein reports: “The 34-year-old has resigned from the south coast club and is now expected to start in a global role across Chelsea’s owners’ multi-club model around November after serving his notice period.”
Jewell’s move comes after Paul Winstanley also left Brighton to become a director at Chelsea.
