Raheem Sterling has stated that he’s disappointed that Chelsea couldn’t take maximum points from their Premier League meeting with Man City on Saturday evening.
The winger scored late in the first half to hand Chelsea the lead, and the Blues did look good for the win until the 83rd minute when Rodri equalised for City.
In a post-match interview, Sterling admitted he was disappointed for the lost points against Man City, but made it clear that ultimately, not losing was more important.
“At the end we can be pleased, but at the same time we’re a little bit disappointed,” said the 29-year-old. “We had chances to finish the game off.
“We knew they’re a team who use the ball really well and that there would be times when we need to use our brains. We’re disappointed not to come away with a bit more.
“We just need to keep being consistent and keep going. [The Carabao Cup final] is another big test and another big opportunity. We need to go into it with the mentality to win the trophy.”
