Only going to end one way: Chris Sutton predicts winner of Man City vs Chelsea

Manchester City Chelsea Man City

Chris Sutton has predicted a defeat for Chelsea when they take on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the Premier League this weekend.

The Blues and the Citizens will clash for the second time this season on Saturday evening, following the 4-4 draw between them the last time they met.

Chelsea are on a two-match winning streak, after beating Aston Villa and Crystal Palace 3-1 in the FA Cup and Premier League respectively, but Sutton believes that City will be too strong, and will go on to record their 12th win on the bounce across all competitions.

The pundit said on his BBC column: “This game is only going to end one way – a Chelsea defeat.

“City are just too good. They have got so many good players, and more to come off the bench. Jack Grealish’s injury against FC Copenhagen was a blow but they had Jeremy Doku to come on, who is a nightmare to play against.”

He continued: “Chelsea gave it a real go in that draw in November, but the defending champions have gone up a notch or two since then, while Mauricio Pochettino’s side keep going up and down.”

Sutton’s prediction: Man City 2 vs 0 Chelsea

Not many are expecting a positive result from Chelsea against Manchester City, but it’s up to the Blues to turn things around and send a message to naysayers with a positive performance at the Etihad.
