William Gallas has stated that he fully expects Conor Gallagher to remain at Chelsea and try to fight for his place at the club, amid speculations about his future.

Gallagher has been one of Chelsea’s best players this season, having played nearly every one of Chelsea’s games across all competitions.

The 24-year-old has also captained the Blues in the absences of both Reece James and Ben Chilwell, while proving to be a powerhouse in Mauricio Pochettino’s midfield.

In the past few months, there have been rumours that Gallagher might be sold by Chelsea in a bid to raise money, and improve the club’s  standing with Financial Fair Play. Meanwhile, Premier League rivals, Tottenham are said to be looking to take advantage of the opportunity, but Gallas believes that the England international is too much of a Blue to agree to leave his childhood club, let alone, join Spurs.

“Gallagher is a Chelsea boy so I don’t think there’s any way he’ll go to Tottenham,” ex-Chelsea defender, Gallas told Genting Casino.

“If he’s from Chelsea’s academy, he’ll want to stay and fight for his place at Chelsea.”

Conor Gallagher recently reminded everyone at Chelsea of how important he can be for the team, after providing two great goals to help Mauricio Pochettino’s men get past Crystal Palace with a 3-1 win at Selhurst Park earlier this week.
