Chelsea returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Monday night, with a hard-fought 3-1 win over Crystal Palace.

Conor Gallagher scored twice in the second half, to spark a comeback for the Blues, who had gone down 1-0 to a powerful Jefferson Lerma effort before the break.

Enzo Fernandez added a third goal for the Blues from close range after he was found by a brilliant through pass from Cole Palmer in added time of the second period.

It was by no means an easy game for Mauricio Pochettino’s men, who were made to labour hard to get maximum points at Selhurst Park, but in the end, they got the job done, and will now look ahead to this weekend’s showdown with Manchester City at the Etihad stadium.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are now up to 10th on the league table, with 34 points after 24 games, and 13 points off fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
