Chelsea star Conor Gallagher has apologised to Crystal Palace fans after his brace helped Chelsea secure a 3-1 comeback victory over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Jefferson Lerma put Crystal Palace in the lead at Selhurst Park after a lackluster first half from Chelsea, which saw the Blues fail to get a shot on target.
However, Chelsea rebounded in the second half, with Gallagher equalizing in the 47th minute and then scoring again in stoppage time.
Enzo Fernandez added another goal in the 94th minute, ensuring Chelsea secured a victory as the Blues departed from south London.
Gallagher spent the 2021-22 season on loan at Palace and was crowned Player of the Year after an impressive campaign.
Ironically, though, Gallagher has now scored more Premier League goals against Crystal Palace than he has against any other side with four.
The England international has also netted more goals at Selhurst Park – six – than he has at any other ground in the competition.
Gallagher feels bad and told Sky Sports after the game: “I do love them (Palace fans), that’s the thing, but you can’t beat that feeling. I’m sorry Palace fans.”
