Chelsea have been warned that the Blues have “no chance” of signing Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong this summer.
Recent reports from Spain claimed Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is ready to spend €100million in the summer to land the Netherlands international.
However, Liverpool legend Steve Nicol doesn’t see De Jong joining Chelsea in the summer. He believes if De Jong is to join a Premier League club in the summer, it’s much more likely that he heads to Manchester United.
Asked about Chelsea’s chances of signing De Jong, Nicol told ESPN: “No. No, no chance. Absolutely no chance, seems more like a Man United buy. Well, the manager’s Dutch for a start.”
