According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

Arsenal, Real Madrid, Liverpool and Aston Villa are also interested in signing the 21 year old La Liga star.

“Arsenal have also sent their scouts to follow Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao multiple times, and it’s the same for Chelsea as they included him in the list last summer,” Romano told CaughtOffside.

“The race is completely open, and nothing is advanced with either club so far.

“He’d be great in the Premier League in my opinion – a physical and technical player; very good one.”

The exact price for Nico Williams is not specified, but given his recent contract extension with Athletic Bilbao until 2027, his market value is expected to be substantial.

This season, the Spanish national player has managed to net five goals and provide 10 assists in a total of 24 matches across all competitions.
