Chelsea are reportedly planning to let Thiago Silva go at the end of the season, according to a new report by The Guardian.

Thiago joined Chelsea on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain back in 2020, and instantly became a fan favourite after tuning in some wonderful performances for the Blues.

The 39-year-old has however appeared to gradually hit a decline in the last few months, as evidenced in some of the costly errors he has made in a number of important games this season.

Chelsea managed to beat Aston Villa 3-1 in the FA Cup, while playing some brilliant football without him in the starting XI last week has also contributed to the feeling amongst the club’s hierarchy that it is time to let him go.

Thiago’s current contract runs out in June, and if things don’t change drastically, the Brazilian is likely to leave Stamford Bridge, although the report also claims that Chelsea want to be careful about the way they let him go, seeing as he is a respected figure among the fans and players.
