Mauricio Pochettino seemed to have taken a veiled dig at Chelsea’s recruitment bosses during his interview on Friday.
The Argentine has been tasked with rebuilding Chelsea’s struggling squad, following his appointment last summer.
The job has proven a difficult one for Pochettino, as his side currently sit in 11th place after 23 Premier League matches.
The 51-year-old has come under intense pressure to deliver, but he insists it will take time, especially given the age and experience of the team.
Pochettino said: “The problem at Chelsea is not that the players are young.
“The problem is that the team is young.
“With 16 or 17 new players who joined at the beginning of the season, you need time to build the team.”
