Mauricio Pochettino has said it’s important for Chelsea to build on their 3-1 win against Aston Villa in midweek by beating Crystal Palace in their next match, in order to show the team is making progress.
The Blues will take on Roy Hodgson’s men at Selhurst Park next Monday, hoping to bounce back from consecutive Premier League defeats against Liverpool and Wolves.
Speaking at his Friday press conference, Pochettino also hinted he might make a few changes to the side that beat Villa, depending on what happens in his squad between now and Monday.
“With all the circumstances that we have from the beginning it is difficult to say that is the starting 11 that was in my mind,” Pochettino said.
“The important thing is the level the players are showing. Little by little we are recovering players that need time to reach the level we expect from them.
“The way we are training and the way today the players behave and with the attitude we are showing we are improving. Now it is about winning the next game and to get the feelings that we build from Aston Villa.”
