Conor Gallagher has revealed that he likes to score goals, and is eager for more after finding the net in Chelsea’s 3-1 FA Cup win against Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
Gallagher opened the scoring for the Blues, before Nicolas Jackson headed in another to make it 2-0 before the break.
In the second half, Enzo Fernandez fired in an unstoppable free kick from distance to put the win beyond doubt, and help Chelsea to the next round of the tournament, despite Villa’s late consolation goal.
Gallagher hadn’t scored for Chelsea all-season, and when asked if it was a relief to finally get on the scoresheet, the 23-year-old said: “It is to be fair, finally. Obviously, I like to score goals, I’d like to score more. This season I haven’t done so, so I’d like to get a few more.
“We’re really buzzing, Villa are a top team. To beat them tonight, how we did, is brilliant. Hopefully we’ll take a lot of confidence into the next game.”
