Manchester United great, Roy Keane has highlighted the influences of Enzo Fernandez and teammate, Moises Caicedo during Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth-round win against Aston Villa on Wednesday night.

The Blues picked up an important 3-1 win against Unai Emery’s men at Villa Park, thanks to two first-half goals from Conor Gallagher and Nicolas Jackson. Enzo then added a third goal for Chelsea with a brilliantly-taken free kick in the 54th minute, as he secured what is now his sixth goal of the season.

The Argentine and Caicedo pulled the strings in midfield for Chelsea, and didn’t allow Villa a lot of space to play their game, which according to Keane, was down to their energy and strength, as well as excellent decision-making.

The pundit told ITV Sport in his post-match analysis: “Absolutely outstanding. The two of them dominated that midfield. Villa were very poor but they looked strong, they looked aggressive, their passing was short, their decision-making was excellent.

“They were strong and physical. The two midfielders for Chelsea – outstanding.”

On Enzo’s brilliant free kick, the ex-Man United star added: “I can see why the referee gave that free-kick and the strike is just quality.

“You have to put it in the top corner, he’s facing his team-mate who is a brilliant goalkeeper, what a free-kick. Pace, whip.

“As soon as it left his foot you thought it had a great chance. Beautiful.”
