Unai Emery has confirmed that Aston Villa will be without Ezri Konsa when they take on Chelsea in their FA Cup fourth-round replay on Wednesday.

Konsa picked up an injury, and had to be taken off after colliding with the post in Villa’s 5-0 Premier League win against Sheffield United this past Saturday.

The 26-year-old is expected back after three to four weeks, but the injury now rules him out of tonight’s game with Chelsea— and the league fixture against Manchester United later this Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the FA Cup clash with Chelsea, Emery said: “Ezri is injured.

“He has a knee sprain and is not going to be available. I don’t know, three or four weeks more or less.

“Lucas Digne is progressing very well but he is not available tomorrow. Pau Torres has started training with the group and he is going to be on the bench tomorrow. But Jhon Durán is still injured.”

Chelsea were held to a goalless draw in the first FA Cup fixture between them and Villa at Stamford Bridge, which means the replay won’t be any less challenging for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
