Mauricio Pochettino has suggested that he may make some changes to his Chelsea side for the Aston Villa FA Cup replay on Wednesday.

Chelsea lost both of their last two games, and player morale is reportedly down, but Pochettino has said he will assess his options, and choose the best team for the trip to Villa Park.

The 51-year-old told a press conference: “It’s true we played well in the first game at Stamford Bridge. It was a game after the first-half that it felt nearly done. The circumstances we arrive in now are completely different.

“We cannot affect the past, only we can affect the future.

“We were talking today with the players that they need to be ready for tomorrow. We are going to pay attention of course of what happened in the last few games. And for us, we need to assess our players and tomorrow I am going to decide the team because I think it’s important to assess how they are recovering and maybe do some changes for tomorrow.”
