Kieran Gibbs has had his say on who’s the better player between Moises Caicedo and Jorginho.

Jorginho, who used to play for Chelsea, was sold to Arsenal in January 2023 for just £12m.

The Blues then went and got Caicedo from Brighton for £115m, after beating off competition from Liverpool last summer.

Caicedo has however, not necessarily had a great time at Chelsea since swapping the Amex Stadium for Stamford Bridge, having come under intense criticism for not living up to the hype around him prior to the transfer.

The 22-year-old was involved for Chelsea, as they lost 4-2 to Wolves at home, and even had to be substituted in the second half, as the Blues chased an equaliser that never came.

Meanwhile, Jorginho put on a ‘Man of the Match’ performance for Arsenal, as they beat Liverpool 3-1 on Sunday, leading to a comparison being made between him Caicedo on ESPN.

Gibbs was asked whether he thought Caicedo was an upgrade on Jorginho, seeing how the fortunes of the two of them have panned out at their respective clubs, and the former Arsenal man told ESPN: “I don’t think Moises Caicedo is a worse player than Jorginho. I think he’s got a lot of raw talent, but you have to find the best way to fit him into a team. This Chelsea team is just not fitting for him.

“I don’t think he’s a worse player, he’s just in a worse team.”
