Mauricio Pochettino has asked for more patience from Chelsea fans who feel disgruntled over the way his side has fared this season.
Chelsea suffered another blow in their quest to play European football next season, with a 4-1 defeat against Liverpool on Wednesday.
The defeat came after the Blues secured a spot in the Carabao Cup final to face Liverpool later this month.
Some fans have since called for the sacking of Pochettino, but the Argentine is adamant the ongoing project at Stamford Bridge will take more time.
“It’s true that today we want the result and it’s difficult to wait. After the third year of Liverpool, they came to Wembley, and we at Tottenham beat them 4-1,” Poch told a press conference when speaking of Chelsea’s progress so far.
“Nobody said it was the end of the world for Liverpool. Look what happened for them: they won the Premier League, the Champions League.”
Chelsea’s next Premier League game will be against Wolves at Stamford this Sunday.
