Premier League pundit, Chris Sutton has admitted he has one worry about his former club, Chelsea after watching them in midweek.
The Blues were downed 4-1 at Anfield by a rampant Liverpool, who were motivated by news that Jurgen Klopp would be leaving Merseyside at the end of the season.
Prior to the game on Wednesday, not many expected to see the Reds dominate Chelsea like they did, but that was exactly the case, and it has now left their fans worrying for what the future holds, especially with both clubs set to meet again in the EFL Cup final on February 25.
Chelsea fans will also be hoping to see their club finish in one of the European places by the time the season comes to an end, but Sutton has now stated that he doubts that is even achievable judging by the gulf in quality that exists between the Blues and Klopp’s side.
He told Sky Sports: “I think that Chelsea have made progress, but when you spend the amount they have they would have expected it to be quicker. Last night, what we saw, Liverpool demolished Chelsea and there was such a big gap, and that will be the worry.
“Mauricio Pochettino will probably think he needs European football, but I’m not sure they’re going to do that.”
