Pochettino believes this Chelsea player can be like Zidane and Kaka

A lot was expected of Moises Caicedo after he signed up for Chelsea.

Signed for a fee of £115m, the PL record signing was expected to hit the ground running at Chelsea.

While the Ecuadorian has been decent, he hasn’t really lived up to expected heights in a Chelsea shirt.

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, has jumped to the 22-year-old’s defence, and believes Caicedo will certainly come good at the end, comparing him with football legends such as Kaka and Zinedine Zidane.

“Remember when Zidane or Kaka went to Real Madrid, they paid a big amount of money,” the Chelsea manager said.

“Zidane was 26 or 27. I think it took seven or eight months for him to perform because expectation is massive and adaptation is difficult. The pressure is massive.

“Moises didn’t do a pre-season, he had some problems when he was travelling for international duty. It’s too many things that delayed the adaptation to the team. Then, all the circumstances delay a little bit to perform.”
