Chelsea were ninth in the Premier League standings after 21 games. The Blues were 12 points behind the fourth place, with Chelsea long out of the title race.
Chelsea finished in 12th place last season, and the results haven’t been much better this term.
However, Chelsea have been able to go toe to toe with the Premier leaders this season, and the Blues should have won some of those games.
Chelsea also create the most chances per game, and Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino believes that his side will be same level with Liverpool and Man City if Chelsea have a 20+ goals a season.
Mauricio Pochettino was asked what his team lacks. He replied: “To have a player who can score 20+ goals, after seven months you sure want more games and more points to be in a different position.
“Our performance if you compare with other teams we are at the top in terms of performance.
“We miss, maybe, this type of player who makes a difference. It’s not a criticism, it’s a reality. We need to build our victories in different ways and be clinical. We need to learn from our decisions and try to be better.”
