Jurgen Klopp has admitted that Chelsea are a much better side than they were when the season began.

The Blues are about to face another stern test in their Premier League campaign, as they prepare to take on Liverpool in an important match at Anfield on Wednesday night.

The two sides have already met once this season, with the game ending in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge. Since then, Liverpool have gone on to climb to the top of the league table, while Chelsea sat in ninth after 21 matches.

However, Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues are currently on an impressive run, and Klopp has conceded that the game will not be an easy one for his side.

The German said at a pre-match press conference on Tuesday: “They are much better, playing really good stuff. Nobody has any doubt about the manager. They might be the team in form, won majority of games recently. We played them first match and we were not great that day and they were pretty good.”

For many, tonight’s game between Chelsea and Liverpool is not just a clash between two sides in English football, it is also a dress rehearsal of what is to come when they both lock horns in the Carabao Cup final on the 25th of February.

If the Blues manage to win the tie, not only will the players receive a massive confidence boost, the guys on the other side could also suffer a drop in morale, which would only play to Chelsea’s advantage at the EFL Cup final.
