Gary Lineker has backed Victor Osimhen to do well at the next club he goes to after watching the 25-year-old in action himself a few seasons ago.
Osimhen is expected to leave Napoli at the end of the 2023-24 season, after he recently claimed he has now decided on what his next move would be when the campaign comes to an end.
Napoli owner, Aurelio De Laurentiis also recently stated that the Nigerian will likely be joining any of Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, or an English club when the summer transfer window opens up.
Chelsea is believed to be Osimhen’s next destination, especially due to their need for a striker— and the forward’s ties to legends of the club, like Didier Drogba and John Mikel Obi, and Lineker, who watched him play against Leicester City in the Europa League a few seasons ago, is now convinced he would be a success for his next employers.
He told the Rest Is Football podcast: “He’s some player. I remember a couple of seasons ago, when Leicester played in the Europa League, we went to the King Power with my boys and he was unbelievably good against Leicester.
“He was such a handful, brilliant in the air, incredibly quick, his movement was very intelligent and he’s going to be a great signing for someone.”
