English football icon, Gary Lineker has urged Victor Osimhen to join Arsenal, and snub Chelsea and Manchester United if he wants to win trophies when he leaves Napoli.
Osimhen is set to leave Napoli at the end of the season, after president of the Serie A club, Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed it in a recent interview.
He told reporters: “We knew that since last summer.
“That’s why the contract negotiations were so drawn out and amicable… but we knew perfectly well that he would go Real Madrid, to PSG or to a English team.”
Chelsea are tipped to be the next destination of the 25-year-old, but former Leicester striker, Lineker has now made a case for why he should join the Gunners instead.
He told the Rest Is Football podcast: “I think I’d look at it and I’d go, at the moment, Arsenal. Obviously, we’re talking about everyone offering the same thing, that’s what you want, blah blah blah in your contract.
“I mean, to be honest, they earn so much now that you can just choose where you want to go. I would say, Arsenal are probably a centre-forward away from winning things.
“Chelsea are a centre-forward away from becoming competitive again. Manchester United are a centre-forward away from improving, but they’ve still got a long way to go. If I were him, you want to go somewhere where you think you’re going to win things.”
