Levi Colwill’s injury doesn’t seem to be a big deal, and the centre back should be back in training in the next few days, according to Chelsea boss, Mauricio Pochettino.
Colwill, who has been a regular presence in Chelsea’s starting XI this season, was not a part of the team that played out a 0-0 draw with Aston Villa in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night after picking up a late injury.
The 20-year-old initially made it to the starting XI, but an injury he picked up in pre-match training ultimately kept him out of the game, with Alfie Gilchrist stepping in to replace him.
As expected, the news was not well-received by Chelsea fans, due to the number of injured players the club already has, but Pochettino has now suggested that it’s nothing serious.
“We don’t believe it is so bad. It is a small issue and he felt uncomfortable. I hope he can train tomorrow or after tomorrow,” he said when asked to provide an update on Colwill.
Chelsea will have to face Villa again after tonight’s draw, but this time, it will be in their own stadium, and fans will hope to see Colwill involved in the replay.
