Aston Villa great, Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that Jhon Duran would not be doing himself any favour by swapping Villa Park for Stamford Bridge.
Duran, 20, is believed to be of interest to Chelsea, who are searching for a new front man this January.
The striker joined Villa last January, and has managed just 14 Premier League appearances, scoring twice in that time.
Duran is said to be tired of having to play backup to Villa star, Ollie Watkins, and wouldn’t mind a transfer away, but Agbonlahor has now claimed that it wouldn’t be a good decision for his career because he’d also have to be behind Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea.
Agbonlahor told talkSPORT: “I think he’s (Duran) probably getting fed up himself because Watkins is guaranteed to start every game because he’s the best striker, he’s probably tired of being number two and getting 10 minutes, 15 minutes.
“He wants to be starting, but he wouldn’t start at Chelsea ahead of Jackson.”
As it stands, we’re not even sure that Chelsea would still go for Duran, seeing as he recently picked up an injury, and is now out for the next few weeks.
