The Premier League is hailed as the best football league in the world but all that could change in the next two years, according to Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku.
Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Roma, has sparked speculation about a possible future transfer with his recent comments praising the Saudi Pro League.
Lukaku’s admiration for the Saudi Pro League, combined with his impressive performance of 15 goals in 25 games for Roma this season, hints at the possibility of him being the next high-profile player to join the Saudi Pro league.
This speculation is fueled by the influx of big names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Sadio Mane, and N’Golo Kante to Saudi clubs.
Lukaku said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano: “In the next two years I see Saudi Pro League becoming one of the best in the world, if not the best.
“The clubs make a lot of efforts to bring the ‘big’ players here. They are improving a lot.
“It could be the best competition in the world.”
