Chelsea genuinely interested in signing this Premier League striker this January. It’s not Ivan Toney

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea is contemplating placing a bid for Colombian international Jhon Duran before the transfer window closes next week.

West Ham previously made an offer to acquire Duran on a loan deal, but Aston Villa turned down this proposal.

Chelsea will consider making a move for 20-year-old Jhon Duran only if they manage to sell their striker Armando Broja soon.

West Ham, Fulham, and Wolves have shown interest in Broja, but they are hesitant to match Chelsea’s asking price of £50 million (approximately $64 million) for the Albanian player.

Since his transfer from Chicago Fire to Aston Villa in January last year, Duran has primarily assumed a substitute role.

In the current Premier League season, he has made 14 appearances, all as a substitute, amounting to 174 minutes of play. This season, he has scored two goals in England’s top division.

Villa might be reluctant to let him go unless they secure a replacement first. Their efforts to sign Morgan Rogers have been met with resistance, as Middlesbrough has rejected two of their offers.
